We received our new brief for the Creative & Media Diploma in the form of an extended project, we had to research the codes and conventions of a documentary, the history of a documentary and how they are presented.
This information will be useful when it comes to making my documentary, such as the use of vox pops or the sometimes shaky handheld camera angles, this information is all in my portfolio.
I also lookeda t the history of documentaries, such as their orgin as "Actuality Films" near the dawn of film, as well as innovations in the genre such as the film "Trawler Men" and the rise of mockumentaries like "Spinal Tap" or "Man Bites Dog", a more in depth history is also in my portfolio.
